Loose dirt or sand it probably won't ride too well in but for fairly hard packed dirt, grass and really rough roads they work fabulous. I personally just road the wheels in the desert and they worked great. Every now and again if I hit a real soft, loose spots they'd dig in and stop. Think of a dirt bike course. The harder packed jumps is what it will ride really well on but the loose, rutty dirt, not so much. Hope that helps!
