They actually add a lot of traction, but the treads aren't that tough and chunks started coming off the back wheels after a few months of riding them hard. I wouldn't recommend them for carving hard every day but they actually make a great set of alternate rain wheels. Throw your old bearings in them and hit some puddles! lol

The Stompers are made of urethane like most normal cruiser wheels and are a similar hardness. They're not like a soft rubber tire and should last as long as any normal cruzer wheel would.
