Forging is where a piece of solid metal is heated up and stamped into form. Resulting in a stronger, lighter baseplate that uses less material (it also makes the forged trucks 1.5mm lower than the gravity cast ones).
Reynolds likes the height of Indy's with gravity cast baseplates. Koston prefers the Forged. Everyone wins.
