Got these abec 5s some time ago and are nice and quick. You guys claim they are serviceable how do I clean them if they have pressed in steel shields that are not removable, do I remove the ball retainer on the back?

They're serviceable as in, you can clean and lubricate them with the open back that doesn't have a shield. Use Gumout or Acetone to clean in a small bowl or bucket and a Teflon based oil after drying the bearings completely.

there not as fast as bones reds there worst every time i drop in onramps and i cant even make it in a stall abec 7 are probuly better

Hi! I'm building up a Santa Cruz Rob Target 1 with some Independent 169 Standards and OJ 60mm Hot Juice Wheels. Should I go for Independent 5s or 7s bearings? Also, which Independent hardware and riser pads should I purchase? Thanks for the help!

The NHS Fun Factory recommends Independent Genuine Parts 7's bearings, Independent Genuine Parts 1/4" Risers and Genuine Parts 1.25" Phillips hardware.
